Brewers Ladies will be looking to continue their unbeaten start to the season against Middlesbrough Women this weekend in the FA WPL Cup.

Their opening day victory was followed by a 2-1 win over Sporting Khalsa, where captain Charlotte Worth bagged the winner in the 90th minute.

However, Middlesbrough will provide stiff competition as the Brewers look to progress to the next round.

They finished second in the Premier League Northern Division in the previous campaign, but fell to an opening day defeat at home to Fylde Ladies. However, the host beat Wolves Women 4-3 last weekend – coming from behind twice.

They will be boosted by the return of two of their players, Ellie Dobson and Emma Kelly, who return from playing for Team GB in the World University Games.

But Burton won’t let that phase them.

Having been underdogs so far this season, it will be no different tomorrow. Yet haven’t defied the odds after the first two games, the ladies will be looking to continue their fine form.

Manager Jack White said: “We’d said it was all about rotating our players for the first few games.

“We do want to see these players as quickly as we can.”

He added: “We didn’t have the luxury of the pre-season so going up there – yeah it’s a game we want to win, it’ll be a good day out for the girls, but it’s a bonus game. Any cup game is, so we’re looking to use it to our advantage with the players.”

We travel to Teesdale Park (TS17 7LD) for a 2pm kick off. You can keep up to date with all the match action over on our Twitter page: @Burtonalbionlfc
